By |April 10th, 2012|events, Uncategorised|0 Comments

Back from an interesting international bagpiping assignment. Was taken out to Dubrovnik, Croatia to do a bit of filming for US TV network ABC, who were shooting their new reality TV show. We are bound by Confidentiality agreement.. So better not say too much! Basically the idea was that the contestants on the show had to compete in highland games activities.  I was asked to pipe them on to the field, and then introduce the activities, caber tossing, archery and maide leisg. It was a great day of filming, with a cast of [...]

By |April 5th, 2012|events|0 Comments

It was a pleasure to take the Reel Time Band over to Kiev at the end of March, for our last Burns night of 2012. After playing Stirling and Edinburgh Castles in January, it was great to have a full castle constructed as the stage. Burns night in Kiev is like no other you have seen. Organised by The Lions Club with a mix of Scottish music and Ukrainian pop stars, at a glitzy society event. Raising money for charity is the main idea, with auctions and raffles raising more than $120000 for [...]

House of Fraser did a great job of hosting the Breast Cancer awareness Public appearance; at Jenners in Edinburgh. It is great to be involved in culture and the Arts, so it was a pleasure to be asked to help out with Jungle city. You can find out more about the project through their website.  Basically famous artists made wonderful jungle creatures, which were then installed around Edinburgh for a month.  At the end of the month, a charity auction was held, so people could buy the art, and help raise money for charity (£800000 to date). A great event to be involved with, we were supplying the Bagpiper. If you are [...]
