Indoor Highland Games

One of the great spectacles of the Scottish summer is the Highland Games Competitions.

These take place all over Scotland during the summer months. Athletes, musicians and dancers compete to be champions.

It’s not always summer in Scotland, so we have designed a range of Indoor Highland Games which can help recreate this great Scottish pastime, at the same time allowing your guests to try their hand at some of the most iconic Scottish challenges.

If you want to bring some Scottish Highland games activities alive for your guests, then we offer a range of these that can happen indoors. This is perfect for a conference centre, or hotel suite where guests want to learn some new Scottish skills, meet the locals and compete in fun Scottish challenges, at the same time as making some memorable images and videos of the action!

Some of the Indoor Highland Games that we offer are;

  • Bagpipe masterclass;  guests learn how to play the bagpipes, with a tutor
  • Scottish dancing workshop;  with accordion player and dancer. Guests can learn the highland fling and some ceilidh dances
  • Indoor caber tossing (highland games) we have indoor cabers, along with astroturf, that guests get taught how to do master the highlight of the highland games, with a heavy athlete to lead their learning.
  • Scots stone putt;  Indoor Scottish stone putting (like a shot putt… but an inside safe version!!)
  • Indoor curling
  • Whisky tasting: Connoisseur training with 2 drams to compare and contrast whisky styles.
  • Scottish gin tasting; Learn about Scottish artisan Gin production, and sample some fine ones!
  • Haggis shy; Like a coconut shy at the fair, but with Haggis (wild ones)
  • Stag hoopla; Can you land a hoop on the Stags antlers?

We can have these open as a drop-in drop-out session, so delegates and guests can network at the same time.

Alternatively, we can plan a range of activities in which the guests rotate around as Clans, build up points as they go, and award prizes to the Chieftains Champions at the finale.

These are all safe to partake in and can happen inside a hotel suite, a conference centre, or in your exclusive-use venue.

They can either work as standalone activities, or have a range of activities, and make a team competition, where guests go around challenges to collect points, to be crowned chieftain champion at the end of the day.

We do this in venues such as

We can also arrange for a photographer / videographer to capture the special moments of the day, so you have a highlights video and pictures of the guests doing something they have probably never tried before!

If you want to compete outside at the Highland Games, then have a look at our Highland Games Experiences page
