Reel Time Ceilidh Band and Roddy the Piper were delighted to be invited to play at this year’s Visit Scotland Business Tourism unit Gala Dinner at Brigadoon. Invited were 150 event organisers, hotel managers, DMC companies and tour operators. The band played a 30 minute set after dinner which got guests arm in arm. Reel Time Events got asked for an X factor style kilt dressing session to form a part of a mini indoor highland games. The clients wanted some fun and interactive challenges that teams could compete in to collect the prizes. With their conference being in Scotland this year, they thought that the highland games was a great theme. For those of you who are looking to hire a bagpiper for a wedding in 2011, then may i offer you a word of advice. There are 5 major pipe band championships throughout the summer. These are dates when most competing pipers get together and compete for the accolades of pipe band competition. This means that the supply of pipers for weddings on these days is greatly reduced, so book early. Just a wee word of advice from a friendly piper! McEwan hall, 230 guests enjoyed a Whisky tasting experience in one of Edinburgh University’s most stunning buildings as part of their social program for their conference. We brought in a couple of our friends from Mellis cheesemonger, who served up a great selection of Scottish cheeses. Helping us to promote responsible drinking. We returned To Edinburgh University’s Play fair library for a whisky tasting experience for the Conference of Bibliographers. A smaller group of 100 guests had great interaction with our Whisky experts, and we laid on some great Scottish cheese for them.
Reel Time entertained the 2010 Nanotoxicology conference with a Whisky tasting for their 340 guests at Edinburgh City Chambers. We set up 4 Whisky stalls each of which was manned by a passionate whisky taster, who advised and entertained guests as they enjoyed a range of fantastic malt whiskies. Reel Time Events entertained 80 chief executives from the US CEO club. They were looking for team activities, which could be done by any age group. The guests were welcomed to Dundas Castle by Robert the Bruce. Before guests were split into teams and competed in percussion, X-factor kilt dressing, bagpipes and cabers for their highland games. On 1st June 2010 we started the new season of Edinburgh Castle bagpipers, to entertain guests on their visit to the Castle. Duties include playing on the battlements as the castle opens, 1 hour concert and photos in hospital square, then warming up the crowd before the one o clock gun.
