Whisky is our National Spirit, and no trip to Scotland is complete without a wee dram.
We like to bring whisky interaction to events, with our fun and informative sessions.
Whisky Tasting should be fun, and informative, and help add a layer of Scottish colour to your event.
Some questions to bear in mind when planning your corporate or conference whisky tasting:
- Do you want a free-flow event or a tutored tasting?
- Tutored Whisky Tasting is good for small groups (under 50) where guests can listen and interact with a whisky taster. These can last for 30-60 minutes and have 3 or 4 whiskies for guests to sample, contrast and enjoy.
- Free Flow Whisky Events are better for larger groups (50-500 people) Where different tasting stations are set up, and guests can visit different stands, and enjoy interaction with different tasters, and enjoy different whiskies, at the same time as networking with other clients/delegates/company members.
- How many people will it be for? Whisky tasting is usually priced per head. So deciding how many guests will come to the event is a good basis to understand how much it will cost. It is also a good point to think about who will enjoy whisky, and then make a decision if there is a proportion of your clients that might not enjoy whisky (and make sure they are catered for too, with a gin tasting, or some fancy Mocktails)
- How knowledgeable are your guests about whisky? It is good to understand if you are presenting to a first-time whisky audience, people who know a few things, or a group of whisky geeks, where we need to sculpt a tasting to raise eyebrows of the unknown!
- Venue; where will the whisky tasting be held? Do you have permission from the venue to hold a tasting there, and what are the Licensing implications?
- Pre-dinner or after dinner? Would you like the guests to enjoy maybe three drams before dinner or a choice of 4 drams after dinner? What other entertainment do you have planned for the evening event? For conferences, sometimes this works well at networking sessions, where a whisky lubricant can help start conversations.
- What is required from the venue? We bring everything needed for the tastings. (crystal; glasses, whisky, props, master tasters to conduct the tasting) The only thing we ask for from the venue, are some dressed tables, to put things on.
