Having a piper at your wedding will help to create an atmosphere from the moment the guests arrive at the ceremony. A traditional Scottish bagpiper will entertain your guests and give your wedding day a musical sparkle. The bagpiper will add colour to your photos with their eye-catching highland dress. Your piper will arrive 35 minutes before your ceremony, ready to greet your guests as they arrive and can perform duties often until piping in for dinner.
We take bookings for the best in piping. Most of our pipers are grade 1 competition standard. They have been hand picked for their musical abilities, high standard of highland dress and guest entertaining qualities. We have seen most of our pipers compete on a solo or band level. Each of our pipers play at least 30 weddings a year, so don’t worry, they will be well drilled and briefed as to your requirements. We use competition standard professional pipers, Army pipe majors, solo bagpipe tutors and folk musicians to give you an assurance of the best quality of piper.
We believe that a piper’s job is not just providing music; it is to entertain guests with their wit and banter as well. Our pipers can be on hand to talk to guests about the highland dress and explain the workings of “the great instrument”.
Pipers are available in full Number 1 Regimental dress (with kilt, braided tunic and furry hat) or Number 2 dress (with kilt, Bonnie Prince Charlie Jacket, shirt and tie). The choice of uniform is yours depending how prominent you would like the piper to be. (Some wedding clients like to have the piper as a visual highlight, others prefer a pipers dress to be in line with the other guests; so as not to steal the limelight from the grooms attire.)
Some popular tunes for pipers to play at weddings include Highland Cathedral, The Rowan Tree and Marie’s Wedding. Click here to hear some bagpipe samples.
